This small on structure terrace project takes advantage of the southwest exposure and residual space between the podium limits and elliptical shape of the building to provide much needed spill out space from the first floor cafeteria. Limited soil profile and weight load issues dictated select positions to accommodate Specimen Southern Live Oaks with sustainable soil depth. Mounded planter configurations reflect soft geometries of the building punctuated with organic bench assembles and zero horizon umbrellas creating fluid scaleable spaces for lunchtime/break gatherings.
